You can direct your gift to an individual's fundraising goal even if they have met that goal. Why? We set individual goals but, ultimately we are raising support as a team. Some raise a little more, perhaps, some a little less but all gifts go towards the overall project expenses. Gifts towards the General Trip Fund reduce everyone's goals.
